    Weight Systems

Adreno stocks an extensive range of weight belts and weights, as well as weight vests/harnesses, accessories and pockets.

Weight belts: Weight belts are used to secure lead dive weights around your waist. Weight belts are made of webbing or rubber. Rubber weight belts are higher quality and more practical for spearfishing as they won't slide around. It is a good idea to invest in a rubber weight belt with a stainless steel buckle as it will last and is the most practical option for spearfishers.

Weights: Weights come in a variety of materials and designs and can be stored on your person in a variety of ways to control buoyancy. Depending on your weight and how much neoprene you're wearing, you'll have to adjust how much weight you choose to dive with. We can't stress the importance of this enough, too little and you'll burn up energy just getting down and too much and you could find yourself struggling to stay afloat or reach the surface. We recommend figuring it out in a pool, recording how much you need and then adjusting to saltwater conditions accordingly.

    • Are you diving in saltwater or freshwater? You float more in saltwater so need more weight.
    • How thick is your wetsuit? The thicker the suit, the more weight you need.
    • What's your height and weight? More body fat requires more weight.
    • What type of diving are you doing? Certain sports require different amounts of weight depending on equipment, depth and activity.

Weight Vests/Harnesses: Some people prefer to wear a weight harness, which moves the weights up around your torso and can assist in trim. Wetsuit material (neoprene) contains air-bubbles which give the wetsuit buoyancy, which is why you need to wear so much lead while suited, as opposed to skin diving.

Weight Systems Accessories: Small additions to your weight system that help make your diving experience enjoyable and safe, such as weight holders that keep weights from moving along your belt.

Weight Pockets: For securely storing weights while you dive and for easy weight adjustment.
